WNC-MOAA was honored to participate in the April 27, 2024, Blue Ridge Honor Flight, a truly memorable event recognizing and celebrating our nation’s veterans. Several of our chapter members took part in the flight as Board members, Guardians, and Veterans, ensuring that those making the journey to Washington, D.C., received the recognition and gratitude they deserve.

In addition to flying with the veterans, WNC-MOAA was proud to support the Welcome Home event, where our members joined the community in giving these heroes a well-deserved homecoming. A special highlight of the evening was our oldest WNC-MOAA member, Ed Cottrell, delivering a heartfelt Welcome Home to the three WWII veterans on the flight.

It was an incredible day of honor, reflection, and camaraderie. We are grateful to be part of such a meaningful program and look forward to continuing our support of Blue Ridge Honor Flight and our veteran community.
