Clint Adams

First Vice President

Clint was born in Bethesda Naval Hospital in November 1947 and spent his growing up years moving back and forth between Groton CT and Pearl Harbor HI as the son of a career submariner. Following a year at the University of the South, he entered the Naval Academy in June 1966 and graduated in June 1970. Three days later he married his wife Joanne and they set out on their long journey together, starting in Charleston SC where he served as Gunnery Officer on board USS Johnston DD821. From there he began a long series of engineering positions as Damage Control Assistant USS Richmond K. Turner CG-20, Engineer Officer USS Cook FF-1983, and Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 5 Material Officer. After 18 months at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA earning a MS in Operations Analysis, he served as XO on USS Lang FF-1060 followed by Asst Ops/Staff Navigator on CCDG-5. From there he served a “payback” tour at the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) in OP123 as Director of Manpower Requirements Determination followed by CO USS Stein FF1065. His last two tours were as Battalion Officer USNA and ACOS Operations for CDR Third Fleet. Following retirement in 1995 he worked for ITT Industries at their Night Vision Division where he became involved with their Lean Six Sigma Process Improvement program, eventually becoming a Master Black Belt and Champion and managing the program. In 2004 he joined a consulting company and worked with many different industries helping to implement their Lean Six Sigma program. After really retiring in 2013 he and his wife spent time traveling, visiting family and friends. He enjoys reading, hiking, beach time and spoiling grandkids.
